A 71-year-old man, Nagendra Prasad Sharma, has died following a suspected wild animal attack near Bhalukhola on the East-West Highway in Nepal’s Banke district. Sharma, a resident of Darma Rural Municipality-1 Salyan, was visiting relatives in Dhakeri and Kohalpur.
Authorities believe the attack occurred around 5:30 am Sunday. Police Inspector Devraj Bhattarai of the Kohalpur Police Office made this assessment.
Sharma’s body has been transferred to Nepalgunj Bheri Hospital for an autopsy. Manoj Kumar Shah, senior conservation officer of Banke National Park, confirmed the tragic incident.
