An elderly man lost his life in a crocodile attack in Madhyabindu Municipality, Nawalpur on Monday morning.
The victim, identified as 72-year-old Min Bahadur Tharu, was reportedly bathing in the Narayani River near Sehari village (Ward 2) when he was attacked. According to District Police Office Spokesperson DSP Bed Bahadur Paudel, the crocodile dragged Tharu underwater and held him captive for an hour and a half.
Authorities were able to retrieve Tharu’s body, which has been sent to the district hospital for autopsy.
