Bijayapur: A tragic incident occurred in Buta-Rangi village of Phatuwa Bijayapur-11 today, as a 70-year-old woman, Patali Tamang, lost her life in an elephant attack. The incident took place early in the morning while she was asleep in her home.
According to Inspector Indramani Adhikari of the Area Police Office, Bijayapur, the elephant suddenly entered the village and attacked the elderly woman. Her husband managed to escape unharmed, but their house was severely damaged. Another nearby house was also partially destroyed in the attack.
Upon receiving the news, a joint team comprising Nepal Police, the Division Forest Office, and the Armed Base Camp Bijayapur rushed to the village to investigate the incident. Local authorities are currently gathering information and conducting further investigations.
