A deceased elephant was found on the banks of the Sukeninda River in Mechinagar Municipality-3 on Thursday morning, according to the Jhapa District Police Office.
Jhapa Police Spokesperson Krishna Bahadur Chand reported that a team of animal specialists has been called in from the Koshitappu Wildlife Sanctuary to examine the elephant and determine the cause of death.
