Kathmandu: English has emerged as the most challenging subject for Grade 12 students in this year’s national examinations, according to the National Examination Board. A total of 102,206 students appeared for the English exam, with a significant number achieving low grades.
The data revealed that 9,591 students secured a GPA between 3.61 and 4.0, while 46,893 students fell in the 3.21 to 3.60 GPA range. A larger group of 78,075 students obtained GPAs between 2.81 and 3.20.
Furthermore, 61,036 students secured GPAs between 2.41 and 2.80, and 8,240 students were in the 2.01 to 2.40 range. A concerning number of 12 students achieved GPAs between 1.61 and 2.0.
In total, 127,007 students will have to retake the exam due to failing grades. The board has announced plans to conduct a mock examination on September 10 and 11 to assist students in preparing for the retake.
