Everest Volleyball Club emerged victorious in the women’s division of the eighth Prime Minister’s Cup NVA Volleyball League securing the finals, maintaining their undefeated streak throughout the league stage.
Their triumph over Nepal Police (25-20, 24-26, 25-20, 25-19) at the last league stage match held at Dasharath Rangshala Curved Hall in Tripureshwar secured their place in the finals. Everest had already secured several wins against other teams before this decisive match. While Nepal Police fell short in this encounter, they had already qualified for the finals based on their previous performances.
The final standings for the women’s division placed APF Club in third, Tribhuvan Army Club in fourth, and Chandragiri Municipality New Diamond Volleyball Club in fifth. The Karnali Sports Development Council unfortunately did not manage to win any sets throughout the competition.
Both the women’s and men’s finals will be held this Saturday. The top two teams from each division will face off, with the women’s final kicking things off at 1:00 PM, followed by the men’s final at 3:00 PM. Additionally, a match to determine third place will take place on the same day.
The winning team in each division will be awarded a grand prize of Rs 8 lakh, while the second and third place finishers will receive Rs 4 lakh and Rs 2 lakh respectively. Individual recognitions will also be presented, with the best player receiving Rs 50,000 and outstanding performers in various roles (libero, server, blocker, setter, spiker, and coach) receiving Rs 20,000 each.
