Kathmandu: A female artist code name (Maharajgunj 7) has lodged a rape complaint against a fan at the Maharajgunj Police Circle. The accused, Amit Shrestha from Dhading, has been absconding since the incident.
The artist alleges that Shrestha initially gained her trust through admiration of her work and constant communication. However, their relationship took a sinister turn when Shrestha allegedly raped her on the night of July 31, 2023, at her Tokha apartment.
The Public Prosecutor’s Office in Kathmandu has initiated legal proceedings against the accused.
