Tragedy struck a children’s hospital in Delhi, India, on Saturday night. A fire tore through the facility in Vivek Vihar, East Delhi, claiming the lives of at least six newborns.
Firefighters battled the blaze and managed to rescue 12 infants. However, the situation remains critical as one rescued baby requires ventilator support. Five others are also hospitalized for treatment.
Officials are investigating the cause of the fire, which has yet to be determined.
