A fire erupted at the Sushil Koirala Prakhar Cancer Hospital in Khajura, Banke, causing significant damage to the city scan room within the radiology department. The blaze, reportedly sparked by an AC unit, broke out around 4:30 pm on Sunday.
Hospital Chief Dr. Prakash Shah confirmed the incident, highlighting that fire control efforts took three hours. Joint efforts from hospital staff, residents, Nepal Police, and the Nepalgunj sub-metropolitan fire department were crucial in containing the fire.
The city scan room sustained extensive damage, with machines and technical equipment removed to prevent further loss. Dr. Shah stated that a full technical evaluation is necessary to determine the complete extent of the damage caused by the fire.
