Khotang, Nepal – Three Khotang District families lose homes in fires; forest blaze and electrical fault among causes in Dalfu, Diprung, and Rawabesi.
A devastating fire originating from the Arare Community Forest has destroyed the home of Basanta Rai in Dalfu, Chasmitar (Halesi Tuwachung Municipality-3). The fire, which started on Monday, caused extensive damage to the property. Local authorities are investigating the cause of the blaze.
This incident is one of several fires that have plagued the Khotang District recently. In Diprung Chuichumma Rural Municipality-7, Temma, an electrical short circuit ignited a fire at the house of Premkumar Rai. The fire resulted in the loss of gold, silver, cash, and other household goods. Additionally, in Dumre Dharapani (Rawabesi Rural Municipality-4), a fire damaged the house of Chandra Bahadur Bishwakarma, destroying cash, solar panels, and batteries.
The recent surge in fires underscores the ongoing challenges faced by communities in the Khotang District. Residents are urged to exercise caution, especially during dry conditions when fires can spread easily.
