Two young girls lost their lives in a tragic fire that injured five members of a family in Lalitpur Metropolitan City-17 Gwarko on Sunday. Eight-year-old Priya Giri and three-year-old Alisa Giri died during treatment at Kist Hospital around 7:30 pm Monday.
The fire also left Sanjay Giri (35), the homeowner, on a ventilator and his wife, Rupa Giri (32), in the ICU. Nit Giri, another injured person, is in stable condition.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation. This incident comes shortly after the deaths of Shankar and Ramesh Pahari of Godavari, Lalitpur, who died while battling a separate fire.
