Several fires have damaged significant amounts of wheat crops across two districts in Nepal.
In Kanchanpur’s Dodhara Chandani municipality, a fire sparked by a fallen electric wire destroyed more than seven bighas of wheat across 15 farms. Residents, security agencies, and fire brigades from nearby municipalities worked together to extinguish the blaze.
Additionally, in Kailali, fires destroyed wheat that had been harvested and stored. In Joshipur Rural Municipality, 13 kathas of wheat belonging to farmer Parshuram Chaudhury were lost. Locals believe electrical wires caused this fire as well. In Bhajani Municipality, Narayan Prasad Devkota lost eight kathas of harvested wheat to a separate fire.
