Five Injured in Bolero Jeep Accident in Mugu

Jeep Accident in Mugu

A serious jeep accident occurred in Chankheli, southern Karnali, early Wednesday morning, resulting in injuries to five people in Mugu.

A Bolero jeep, bearing the registration number 2001 Cha 0922, was traveling from Chankheli-2 Garkha to Deuli Bazar when it overturned on the Mugu road near Gaurisalla. Seven people, including the driver, were on board. Five passengers sustained serious injuries, while two others escaped with minor injuries.

Those seriously injured in the accident include:

  • Surendra Shahi (35) of Chankheli Rural Municipality
  • Til Bahadur Shahi (50) of Chankheli Rural Municipality
  • Rabin Shahi (15) of Chankheli Rural Municipality
  • Prithvi Rawat (40) of Chandannath Municipality-13, Mugu
  • Ramesh Malla (40) of Chandannath Municipality-13, Mugu

Driver Mahendra Bikram Shah and Mayadevi Shahi suffered minor injuries.

A seven-member team from the Mimi Police Station, led by Sub-Inspector Balkrishna Khadda, responded to the accident and rescued the injured passengers. The jeep plummeted 150 meters down a slope after veering off the road at the Gaurisalla turn.
