A devastating series of floods and landslides has swept across Nepal, resulting in the tragic loss of at least 100 lives. The disaster has also left 67 people missing and 101 injured.
The Ministry of Home Affairs reported that Lalitpur was the hardest-hit district, with 20 fatalities. Other districts with significant casualties included Dhading (15), Kathmandu (12), and Kavre (10). Smaller numbers of deaths were reported in Makwanpur, Sindhupalchok, Solukhumbu, Panchthar, Bhaktapur, Dolakha, Sindhuli, Dhankuta, Mahottari, Ramechhap, Jhapa, Udaiyapur, Ilam, Saptari, and Nuwakot.
In response to the crisis, the government has deployed 9,983 security personnel for search and rescue operations in the affected areas. To date, 3,039 people have been rescued from the disaster.
