Former Ivory Coast Star Sol Bamba dies at 39

Sol Bamba, a renowned former defender for the Ivory Coast national team and several English Premier League clubs, has tragically passed away at the age of 39.

The news was confirmed by his current club, Adanaspor in Turkey, where he was serving as the technical director. Bamba fell ill before a match and was rushed to a local hospital but sadly succumbed to his illness.

Bamba, who captained Leeds United during his time in the Premier League, had previously battled cancer in 2021. Despite undergoing successful treatment, the illness appears to have resurfaced.

His career also included stints with Leicester City, Middlesbrough, and the Ivory Coast national team, where he made 46 appearances. The football world mourns the loss of this talented and respected player.
