In a tragic incident in Kanchanpur district, Lachi Chand, a former teacher from Vidyanagar in Belauri Municipality-6, was murdered. Police investigations revealed that the cause of death was being struck with stones.
Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Umesh Joshi reported the arrest of 35-year-old Mahesh Bhandari from Belauri on charges of murder. Preliminary findings suggest that an argument while intoxicated led Bhandari to kill Chand by pelting him with stones.
Bhandari is currently in custody as the police continue their investigation into the incident.
