Janakpurdham sub-metropolitan ward number 24 ward president and three people including the ward secretary have been arrested red-handed with a bribe of four and a half lakh rupees.
The joint team of Central Office Tangal and Bardibas Office of the Commission for Investigation of Abuse of Authority arrested 57-year-old Ward President Upendra Sahani, 52-year-old Ward Secretary Upendra Sah, and 45-year-old Bijay Mandal with bribe money.
Ram Bahadur Kurumwang, head of Bardibas office of the Authority, informed that they were arrested this afternoon from the premises of the ward office along with a bribe amount of 450,000 rupees. According to him, based on the information that the ward chairman and the ward secretary have verified the house and asked for the bribe, they arrested him with the money and are conducting further investigation.
