Salyan: A tragic road accident in Salyan district has claimed the lives of four individuals. The incident occurred on Monday evening in Sinbang, Kapurkot Rural Municipality-6.
A mini-truck (Ra 1 Kha 2402) carrying paddy and straw from a local farm veered off the road while attempting to avoid a tree. The impact of the accident was severe, resulting in immediate fatalities for two young boys: 14-year-old Gobardhan Khadka and 12-year-old Anil Bhandari.
The driver, 24-year-old Man Bahadur Bhandari, succumbed to his injuries during treatment at Rapti Provincial Hospital in Dang. Another victim, 13-year-old Kakhuma Basnet, along with 35-year-olds Nanda Basnet and Deb Bahadur Basnet, sustained critical injuries and are currently undergoing treatment at a Nepalgunj nursing home.
Sanjeev Basnet, Khadka, Hikmat Pun, and co-driver Raunak Bhandari were also injured in the accident but have since been discharged after receiving medical attention.
Local authorities are investigating the exact cause of the accident.
