Construction has begun on an ambitious project in Chhampi, Godawari, Lalitpur – the Nepal Art Village. A centerpiece of the village will be the world’s largest Bhairav face, a colossal 72-foot-tall, 58-foot-wide sculpture weighing a staggering 65 tons.
The project, spearheaded by Rupakman Maharjan, will incorporate the massive Bhairav face into a five-story building, with an art museum occupying the interior. The creators aim to secure a Guinness World Record for this monumental feat.
Spread across 238 ropanis of land, the Nepal Art Village will feature a dedicated 52-ropani space for the Bhairav face and other structures, while the remaining area will be transformed into a cultural hub known as Kalagram.
Visitors will be able to explore a collection of 16 different Ganesha idols and 64 unique Bhairav idols within the village. The project promises a breathtaking panoramic view of the Kathmandu Valley and the Himalayas from the eyes of the towering Bhairav sculpture, located at a height of 42 feet.
