Three foreign nationals, including a Chinese citizen and two Myanmar nationals, were arrested at Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) on Tuesday evening for attempting to smuggle over 5 kilograms of gold into Nepal.
The gold was concealed within 12 speakers in their luggage. The trio arrived on Air Arabia flight G 9530 from Sharjah.
The arrested individuals are currently being held at the TIA Customs Office for further investigation.
