A house in Kharbari, Rurukshetra rural municipality-5, Gulmi district, was destroyed by a fire caused by faulty electrical wiring. Deputy Superintendent of Police Shankar Pokharel of the District Police Office, Gulmi, confirmed the incident, which belonged to Giri Bahadur Shrestha.
The fire spread rapidly through the house, consuming all its contents. Residents and police worked together to bring the blaze under control.
This incident is part of a concerning trend in the district, where summer’s dry conditions have led to numerous fires in community forests. These fires have resulted in millions of dollars in losses.
The police report that over 100 houses and livestock have been destroyed by fires in various locations throughout the district.
