Gunaraj Ruchal of Nepal secured a historic gold at the 19th Muay Thai World Championship on Tuesday. Competing in the semi-pro men’s 54 kg category in Bangkok, Thailand, Ruchal defeated Italy’s Graviel Olariu.
Ganesh Lal Kashpati, president of the Nepal National Muay Thai Association, emphasized that Ruchal’s win marked the first-ever gold for Nepal in the semi-pro division of the World Championship. This triumph, achieved on Ruchal’s eighth attempt, stands as the pinnacle of Nepali achievement in Muay Thai.
