Siraha: The final rites for internationally acclaimed classical musician Gurudev Kamat will be performed today at 4 PM. The cremation will take place at the Nimaha riverbank in his native village of Pokharbhinda, Lakshmipur Patari Rural Municipality-2, Siraha.
One of Kamat’s sons, Dharmendra, is currently en route from Qatar and is expected to arrive by 4 PM.
Kamat passed away at the age of 69 on Thursday morning due to prolonged kidney illness. He was a prominent figure in Nepali music, having spent the last four decades contributing to the nation’s musical landscape.
