The Meteorological Forecasting Division of the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology has issued a heat wave warning for parts of Nepal, citing a significant increase in both minimum and maximum temperatures throughout the country.

The Department reported that temperatures in areas of the Lumbini, Madesh, and Sudurpaschim provinces have reached or exceeded 40 degrees Celsius (104 degrees Fahrenheit). Officials warn that the Tarai region is particularly susceptible to extreme heat in the coming days and urge the public to take necessary safety measures.

“These areas could witness a hot wave from 22 to 26 April. People are requested to adopt precautions to keep themselves safe from the impact of the hot wave,” the Department stated.
