Over the weekend, rumors swirled across social media, claiming that members of the notorious Hells Angels motorcycle club were en route to Aurora, Colorado, to confront Venezuelan gangs. These claims emerged as the city grapples with rising concerns over gang-related activity, particularly following a surveillance video that surfaced showing armed men allegedly taking control of an apartment complex.
The footage, which featured the Edge at Lowry apartment complex, spurred rumors linking the incident to the Venezuelan gang known as Tren de Aragua (TdA). However, authorities have urged caution in jumping to conclusions.
Aurora’s Interim Police Chief Heather Morris addressed the situation, dismissing the idea that the apartment complex had been overtaken by gangs. “We’ve been speaking with residents to understand what’s truly going on. While there may be individuals with gang affiliations living here, the idea that a gang has taken control of this complex is not supported by what we’ve learned so far,” Morris stated.
As speculation continued to grow online, some social media users fueled the narrative, alleging that Hells Angels members were preparing to confront the Venezuelan gang in Aurora. “I’ve seen several videos in the past few minutes showing Hells Angels heading to Colorado, specifically Aurora. This could get interesting,” one X (formerly Twitter) user posted.
Despite these claims, other users quickly debunked the narrative, pointing out that the circulating videos were either old or misleading. One user wrote, “No, the Hells Angels are not heading to Aurora to fight Venezuelan gangs. Someone shared an outdated TikTok video of bikers, and that was enough to spark this rumor.”
At this time, neither the Hells Angels nor any credible sources have confirmed these reports. Both their website and official social media channels have remained silent on the matter, leaving the viral rumors to rest in the realm of internet speculation.
Authorities continue to investigate the underlying gang activity in the area but have not verified any involvement of the Hells Angels or other external groups. Residents are being urged to stay calm as the police work to gather more information.
