A house was destroyed by heavy rainfall in Maiwakhola Rural Municipality-1, Dhunge Sangu Tellabung, on Sunday night. Fortunately, the 64-year-old resident, Bhoteni Limbuni, managed to escape unharmed.
According to Police Inspector Kamal Kumar Lungeli, the water discharged from the Dhunge Sangu substation, currently under construction by the Electricity Authority, is believed to have exacerbated the damage. The water is reportedly flowing through a deep hole and entering the house.
The heavy rainfall has also caused disruptions to transportation, with the highway in the area being blocked. The rural municipality has advised travelers to use an alternative route via Peepal Chowk Temwe Lekuwa due to safety concerns.
The displaced woman has been provided shelter in a safe location by the district police office.
Authorities are assessing the damage and working to restore normalcy in the affected area.
