Sharif Ahmed Abdul Ghafar, a 35-year-old Indian citizen, was arrested at Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) for attempting to smuggle 855 grams of gold concealed in a semi-solid state. The arrest occurred during a routine check at the arrival tunnel gate on Monday night, after Ghafar arrived on a Fly Dubai flight.
Airport police discovered the smuggled gold and transferred Ghafar to the customs office for further investigation.
