Kerala Landslide

New Delhi: The Indian Navy is at the forefront of rescue and relief operations in the landslide-affected Wayanad district of Kerala. Over 78 naval personnel are currently deployed in the region, working tirelessly amidst challenging weather conditions and difficult terrain.

Teams are stationed in multiple locations, including Chooralmala and Mundakkai, coordinating closely with local authorities and disaster relief forces. Additional personnel, supplies, and equipment have been mobilized from INS Zamorin to bolster the relief efforts.

A crucial Bailey bridge, connecting the isolated regions of Chooralmala and Mundakkai, was constructed by the Indian Army with the assistance of a team of Indian Navy engineers. This bridge is vital for the transportation of heavy machinery and ambulances.

The Indian Navy’s Advanced Light Helicopter (ALH) has been instrumental in aerial reconnaissance, rescue operations, and delivering essential supplies to inaccessible areas.

The Indian Navy remains committed to supporting the local community and aiding in the recovery process.
