Banke, Nepal – A man recently released from prison has been arrested in connection with the gruesome discovery of a headless body in Banke.
Anil Pariyar, 24, was apprehended by police on suspicion of involvement in the murder of Chandra Bahadur Kami. The victim’s body was found on September 12 in Kohalpur Municipality-8.
Pariyar, a resident of Rolpa, had been released from Naubasta Prison just two weeks before the murder. He had served 2 years and 9 months for a rape conviction.
Investigation Leads to Arrest:
Police launched an immediate investigation into the headless body case, utilizing a trained dog and collecting CCTV footage from nearby areas. The footage provided crucial clues, including the identity of the suspect.
A team of police officers, led by Inspector Hari Bhattarai, conducted a thorough search and eventually discovered the victim’s head in a septic tank at a relative’s house where Pariyar was staying.
Confession and Motive:
Pariyar, when confronted with the evidence, admitted to the crime. He claimed that a minor altercation with the victim had escalated into violence, leading him to commit the murder.
The police are currently conducting further investigations to gather more details about the incident and the motive behind the crime.
