A 24-year-old man, Kamal Budha, from Shivalaya Rural Municipality-3 Sima in Jajarkot, is missing and presumed drowned after going for a swim in the Bheri River. The incident occurred Thursday afternoon in Chaurjahari Municipality-3 of Rukum West district.
According to Deputy Superintendent of Police Nawaraj Pokharel, Budha was an employee at the under-construction 50-bed Rukum Chaurjahari Hospital. He went to the Bheri River to cool off during the afternoon heat.
Police from both Chaurjahari and Jajarkot Kudu were dispatched to the scene after receiving reports of Budha’s disappearance. A search effort involving residents and police is currently underway.
