Jayaprakash Gachhadar, president of Gramthan Rural Municipality in Morang, has passed away.
Bhaktinath Majhi, Deputy Chairman of Nepali Congress Morang, confirmed that Gachhadar, who suffered a brain hemorrhage on January 24, 2024, died on the afternoon of June 17, 2024. Gachhadar was elected in the local elections representing the Nepali Congress.
Majhi stated that Gachhadar will be cremated on Tuesday. He had been semi-conscious for four months and was kept at home for the last month of his life. Gunabati Devi Tharu, the vice president of Gramthan Rural Municipality, has been serving as the acting president since Gachhadar fell seriously ill.
