A tragic jeep accident occurred on the road between Dahare and Kafaldanda in Marsyangdi Rural Municipality 6, Lamjung, resulting in the death of the driver. Police identified the deceased as Bir Singh Damai, 37, from Triveni Rural Municipality 4, Rolpa district.
The jeep, numbered BA 17 CHA 1465, was returning from delivering workers to the Super Nyadi hydropower project when it plunged approximately 400 meters from the road on Friday morning. Police recovered the driver’s body 150 meters from the road with the assistance of the Nepali Army’s bomb disposal team and local construction workers. The body was transported to Lamjung Hospital in Bensi Sahar for an autopsy.
Police investigators suspect brake failure as the likely cause of the accident on the downhill road.
