Jeep Found, Three Still Missing in Sunkoshi River Accident

Sindhuli, Nepal – A team of divers has recovered the jeep that plunged into the Sunkoshi River on Saturday evening, but the three occupants remain unaccounted for.

The vehicle, an Isuzu with the registration number 3-01-023 Cha 6366, fell into the river near Golanjor Rural Municipality-1 Kundule, Sindhuli, while traveling from Halesi in Khotang towards Kathmandu.

According to local authorities, three men – Abin Bake (32), Praneet Syagu (30), and Balram Ghatuwa (37), all residents of Bhaktapur – were in the jeep at the time of the accident. While one passenger, Sushant Kashpati, managed to escape and was treated for moderate injuries, the fate of the others remains unknown.

A search operation involving divers from the Armed Police Force’s Disaster Management Base in Khurkot was immediately launched following the incident. The district police chief, SP Govinda Kafle, confirmed that the search efforts are ongoing.
