An 18-year-old student, Anika Adhikari, was injured in an attack while returning home after taking her class 12 exam in Jhapa. She is currently receiving treatment at Life Line Hospital in Damak.
Police suspect the assault involved a projectile weapon. Chief District Officer Bandhu Prasad Bastola confirmed injuries in two places, indicating a possible shooting.
DSP Krishna Chand of the District Police Office Jhapa stated that the attacker has been identified and authorities are conducting a search with sealed borders.
Adhikari, a student at Himalaya Secondary School in Damak, is reported to be in stable condition with bruising and contusions on her abdomen. A bullet-like object was found in her clothes.
