Janakpur, Nepal – A journalist was killed early this morning in a motorcycle accident in Janakpur.
The victim, identified as 32-year-old Shibendra Rohita, was working for Rajdhani Janakpur Online. According to the Dhanusha District Police Office, Rohita died at the scene when his motorcycle collided with a car at Thapachowk in Janakpurdham around 3:00 am.
Police identified the car as number Ba 21 Cha 3343 and the motorcycle as Province 2 Ja 5694.
Rohita’s friend, 25-year-old Jayanath Yadav, who was riding a pillion on the motorcycle, was injured in the accident. He is currently receiving treatment at Sita Hospital in Janakpur.
Rohita was a resident of Shaheed Nagar Municipality-8, Dhanusa.
The Dhanusha District Police Office has taken the car and the driver into custody. The cause of the accident is still under investigation.
