Juan Guerrero-Burgos has been elected this Tuesday as the new president of the Royal Spanish Golf Federation (RFEG), a position he will occupy for the next four years, replacing Gonzaga Escauriaza, who had been in office since 2008 and who, in turn, has been named honorary president.

“Although we are growing at an appreciable rate, if at the time we had almost 340,000 members, I would like us to be able to gradually get closer to that number. To do this, we must promote golf, especially to people outside our environment, who, if they know it, will They are going to get hooked,” Guerrero-Burgos declared in statements released by the federative body.

Guerrero-Burgos was the only person who had presented his candidacy within the deadline established for this purpose, so a vote by the assembly members was not necessary.

The twelfth president, who was full of praise when speaking of his predecessor Escauriaza, stated that the key is to “promote the construction of initiation facilities” and stressed that the National Golf Center is “everyone’s home.”

“The National Golf Center is everyone’s home and it will continue to be that way. It will be a place where all its facilities will be taken advantage of and optimized to the maximum so that it acts as a speaker for Spanish golf activities. before the whole of society,” he expressed.
