After five rounds of golf and with the uncertainty of whether the rain would allow the LPGA Tour qualifying tournament to finish this Tuesday, the Spanish Julia López and Azahara Muñoz have achieved their goal of obtaining the card to play in 2025 on the American circuit. This was only possible if they stayed in the top 25, something they have more than achieved. The two golfers from Malaga will be on the American tour next year with Carlota Ciganda and Fátima Fernández Cano.

Julia nailed it on the fifth day of the Q-School, in which she scored 64 strokes – the best of the day along with the winner Yamashita – and achieved the rights that will allow her to be a member of the LPGA on the first try. López, 21 years old, abandoned amateurism a few weeks ago to be able to participate in this event. That made it difficult for her to miss the Spanish Open as a guest, but the young woman from Benahavís, who studies Business Administration and Management at Mississippi State University, was very clear about her path.
The American route was the only one that Julia contemplated and, although she reached number one in the world in the amateur ranking, she wanted to become ‘pro’ to try to join the LPGA or, in the worst case, start from the Epson Tour (former Symetra). . López has won everything in the lower categories of the national team and has burned through stages by leaps and bounds because his level on the field has allowed it. Her next challenge is to rub shoulders directly with the best in the world and earn a place in the ‘majors’. Its future is very promising.
Azahara Muñoz also shined in a fifth round split in two days on the Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail course. In his case, he made 67 shots that confirmed that he regains his playing rights, after losing them by finishing in the circuit’s annual ranking outside the ‘top 100’, in 111th place. The 2025 LPGA season could not be more interesting for him. Spanish golf.
