Eighteen-year-old Kailash Bista drowned in the intake of the Kularia Khargauli Badkabichhi Kula Canal in Janaki Rural Municipality-5 Amaura, Kailali, according to police.
Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Kavindra Singh Bohora, spokesperson for the District Police Office, said Bista was taking a bath in the canal intake on Tuesday afternoon when he drowned.
Bista was a resident of Lamkichuha Municipality-5 Thapapur.
Police said the body of the deceased has been sent to Tikapur Hospital for a post-mortem examination.
