Nepali mountaineering legend Kami Rita Sherpa has once again defied expectations, conquering Mount Everest for a staggering 30th time. He reached the summit at 7:49 am on Wednesday, May 22nd, 2024, solidifying his position as the climber with the most ascents of the world’s highest peak.
This achievement comes just ten days after his 29th successful Everest summit on May 12th. Kami Rita’s unwavering determination and exceptional climbing skills were on full display throughout this record-breaking expedition.
The 54-year-born, hailing from Thame in Nepal’s Solukhumbu district, began his Everest journey in 1992 as a support staff member. Since then, his passion for mountaineering has propelled him to conquer Everest a record-breaking number of times. His climbing experience extends beyond Everest, with successful summits on other formidable peaks like K2, Cho Oyu, Lhotse, and Manaslu.
