Karnali Bridge Fire

A fire that broke out in a truck carrying lighters on the Karnali bridge in Chisapani, Kailali, has partially been brought under control. The incident occurred around 4:30 p.m. on Monday, causing significant traffic disruptions.

Firefighters worked diligently to extinguish the blaze on the bridge, but the fire in the truck persisted. Authorities are using a combination of sand and dozers to suppress the flames.

Due to the ongoing situation, traffic along the Karnali bridge has been halted for several hours. Vehicles are being rerouted to an alternative route via the Hulaki Highway.

Fire engines from multiple municipalities, as well as teams from the Nepal Police, Nepal Army, and Armed Police, are actively working to contain the fire. While the fire on the bridge has been extinguished, the extent of damage and the number of lighters in the truck remain unknown.

The truck’s occupants were rescued safely with no injuries reported.
