The Kaski District Police Office has arrested eight individuals involved in the Prime Multi-Purpose Cooperative fraud case. Those arrested include the former president, current president, manager, employee, legal advisor, former treasurer, loan officer, and shareholder.
The arrests were made following a complaint filed by the cooperative registrar’s office in Pokhara, alleging the cooperative failed to return savers’ money, misappropriated funds, and engaged in fraudulent activities. The complaint estimates the embezzled amount to be 1 billion 540 million 15 lakh 8 thousand 142 rupees and 85 paise.
The police are urging affected savers to come forward and file complaints.
