A second tragedy has struck in Lalitpur as 50-year-old Ramesh Pahari, a resident, has succumbed to injuries sustained while bravely battling a wildfire in the Badikhel forest of Godawari municipality-4. Pahari passed away during treatment at Kirtipur Burn Hospital.
This devastating loss follows the death of Shankar Pahari, another resident who died at the same hospital on Tuesday while also attempting to contain the blaze. The two were initially injured on Tuesday afternoon.
The wildfire has also spread to Ananda Forest in Godawari municipality-6, prompting authorities to evacuate patients from a nearby leprosy hospital as a precautionary measure.
