While Lamichhane is currently in Nepal and awaiting his US visa, CAN has secured his presence for Nepal’s matches against South Africa and Bangladesh in the West Indies, working in coordination with the ICC.

The press release also addressed recent media reports regarding Lamichhane’s media relations, calling them “negative statements” and “unnecessary and baseless.” CAN Secretary Paras Khadka urged supporters to disregard such negativity and focus on supporting the team.

With Nepal participating in the T20 World Cup for the first time in a decade, Khadka called for national unity: “We urge all Nepali cricket supporters not to be swayed by the nonsensical media hype created for personal and political gains, and to encourage the Nepali national cricket team in this World Cup. After ten years, as Nepal participates in this great cricket festival, we also heartily appeal to all Nepali cricket supporters to unite as one and boost the morale of the Nepali cricket team.”

This news comes with a sigh of relief for Nepali cricket fans eager to see Lamichhane, a vital player, join the team despite the visa delay.
