One person has been confirmed dead after a landslide struck Kwholasothar rural municipality-3 in Lamjung, Nepal. The body of 69-year-old Rudraman Gurung was found following a search effort launched after Tuesday night’s incident.
Three houses were swept away in the landslide that occurred in Piuchutol, Bagum. District Police Office Lamjung reports that three people remain missing: 36-year-old Pancha Kumari Gurung, her daughter Namrata (age 5), and Ichcha Gurung (age 7).
Search and rescue teams comprised of the Nepali Army, Armed Police Force, and Nepal Police are currently deployed at the site.
