Travelers on the Prithvi Highway face renewed disruptions after a fresh landslide struck a section of Damauli-Dumre near Vyas Municipality-1 Musekhola in the Tanahun district. The incident occurred early this morning, following efforts to clear a previous landslide that blocked the road on Saturday evening.
The District Police Office of Tanahun confirmed that the latest closure resulted from debris falling from an excavated wall during the ongoing expansion of the Muglin-Pokhara road project.
Authorities were able to temporarily reopen the highway after midnight, allowing traffic to flow again. However, the fresh landslide this morning forced another closure.
Currently, efforts are underway to clear the debris and reopen the crucial highway for commuters.
