A devastating landslide struck a home in Syangja on Friday night, claiming the lives of a mother and her young daughter.
Durga Jiti and her three-year-old child were asleep in their residence located in Phedikhola rural municipality-5 when the disaster occurred at around 11:30 pm. According to police reports, a landslide originating 25 meters above the house swept away their dwelling, leaving no chance of escape.
Local authorities are currently on-site and the extent of the damage is being assessed.
