Torrential rains lashing Triyuga Municipality since last night triggered a deadly landslide in Ward 15, Toribari. The disaster claimed the life of eight-year-old Rupkala Magar, according to the District Police Office.
Two others were injured in the incident. 40-year-old Hiramaya Magar and her seven-year-old son Yogesh Magar are receiving treatment at a local hospital for critical injuries.
The landslide caused significant damage, destroying four houses and placing five others at high risk.
