A landslide triggered the collapse of an under-construction church tower in Rolpa on Sunday morning, resulting in one death and two injuries.
Dhanjita Budhamagar, a resident of Rolpa Municipality-10, lost her life when the landslide struck the Bethel Mandali Church in Mulpani around 4:30 AM. Three people were staying in the church tower at the time of the incident, as they had attended a prayer service the previous day.
Of the two injured, one person is in critical condition and has been transferred to Provincial Hospital Butwal for advanced treatment. The other injured individual is receiving medical care at the district hospital.
District Police Office Rolpa confirmed the incident and is investigating the matter further.
