A tragic incident struck Kapilvastu on Wednesday morning as two young men were killed by lightning.
The deceased are 22-year-old Mahesh Kalwar, a resident of Yashodhara Rural Municipality-8 Bhaisahiya, and 18-year-old Raju Thakur, a resident of Buddhabhumi Municipality-10 Dhankauli.
According to Kapilvastu Police Superintendent Nabaratna Paudel, Kalwar and Thakur were struck by lightning while going to their fields on Wednesday morning. The lightning strike resulted in their deaths at the scene.
The bodies of the deceased will be handed over to their families for cremation after postmortem examinations at Kapilvastu Hospital. This is a sad reminder of the dangers of lightning strikes. It is important to be aware of the weather conditions and seek shelter during thunderstorms.
