The much-anticipated clash took place on Saturday, with both teams eager to make a positive impression. However, it was Liverpool who emerged victorious thanks to second-half goals from Diogo Jota and Mohamed Salah.
A goalless first half set the stage for an exciting second period, with Jota breaking the deadlock in the 60th minute, assisted by Salah. The Egyptian forward then doubled Liverpool’s advantage just five minutes later, securing the three points for the Reds.
